January News, Retreat and (a few) Gigs from Catie Curtis

Hello Friends!

A very happy new year to you!

Wow, I’m realizing that it has been many months since I’ve checked in with you all! It’s time for some updates – There is news about songs, gigs and my annual Catie at the Cove retreat!

As many of you know, I left the life of being a touring musician and started graduate school this fall. It’s wonderful and I love it! AND I have been able to weave songwriting and a few gigs in here and there, which is just how I envisioned this next phase of my creative life.

Songwriting!
I am so deeply grateful to those of you who have supported my workand who have inspired a half-dozen new songs in four months! Please join me on Patreonand be among the first to hear new music, offer input on songs and maybe even have a stamp on some final versions!

Thanks to my Patreon community, I wrote a goofy song called “Phil and Dolly’s Honeymoonin which my dad and his new wife take a trip to … well, you’ll just have to listen to know.

On a more serious note, I also wrote a political song about the caravan of migrants, called “No One’s Coming In”.

It’s been hard to feel good about our world these days, and writing songs truly brings me peace and joy, no matter the topic. I hope you will listen.

Gigs!
I’m so happy to still be gigging! My shows are primarily in New England, and I occasionally venture beyond. In the next few weeks, I’ll in Silver Spring MD, Lexington MA and Northampton MA. Check the schedulefor details and then come on out and enjoy a break from whatever’s got your mind spinning – it’s always a lot of fun!

Retreat!
Co-hosts Jenna Lindbo, Scott Stoll and I are happy to announce the dates of the 2019 Catie at the Cove Retreats! This year’s Catie at the Cove will be held from July 9-14, 2019. Alumni get first dibs at registration, and general public applications will be accepted beginning January 25, 2019, with an early-bird $100 discount through March 1, 2019.

The retreat takes place on Georgetown Island, a stunningly beautiful setting off the coast of Bath, ME. We started as a songwriters' retreat, and our participants tend to love music. But as a creativity retreat, we welcome those who do not sing or play an instrument. We are here to provide inspiration and a safe space to make stuff up. There will be songs, poems, lines, melodies, stories, photography and artforms not yet known!

If you are interested in attending, the best thing to do right now is to fill out the APPLICATION formand email me to let me know you are interested. This will put you at the top of the wait list, and we will not ask for a deposit until we find that space is available and your application has been accepted. Come be pampered and create!

That is all for now. Keep on top of my schedule and I hope to see you out there!

All my best to you and yours!
