Hi Catie, Please, please, please come to the UK! We love your music!!

Hi Catie, Not sure if you ever had time to look up the Graston Technique with one of your practitioners. Myself, partner and best friend were at your show at Steel City Cafe this past late winter. Well, hope you found some relief with your minor ailment. Give me a shout if you ever wish to discuss further healing therapies. www.drjennhartmann.com. Best, Dr Jenn
This Summers' Lilith Fair, have cancelled several shows. HA. Who planned these shows? Their biggest mistake was NOT inviting Catie Curtis and Melissa Ferrick to be part of this tour.
I love your music and your perfomances!! When will you come back to the West Coast? Specifically the SF Bay Area?

Just heard your song "Dad's Yard" on Harmony Ridge (public radio) and am sitting here listening again, while wiping the tears from my eyes. I am sad, and happy all at the same time. What a slice of life and nostalgia you have created. It talks to me, and I listen. The parallels are indescribable, I love it. My Dad is 81 this year, and has always been the one that just could never let things go until they just could not be used again. I have not met many that could match is generosity, or willingness to accept people for whom they are without judgement. So, to the two of you I say thanks many times over... sniffle, sniffle!1`

Great version of John Martyn's "I don't wanna know about evil" a criminally ignored genius ! I've enjoyed your albums for a while, any chance of playing in Scotland ?
We loved your performance at the Grange Hall Coffee House in Sandwich last Saturday! I laughed 'til I cried and did that ever feel good! You sang a song related to 6 Degrees of Separation (synchronicity) that I would like to have in my music library but don't know what it was called. Could you please let me know? Thanks!
Thanks! It's called "Six Degrees," and it's a new song so it hasn't yet been recorded. Stay tuned for news about the new CD coming in 6-12 months!
Your concert at The Grange Hall Coffeehouse, Cape Cod, MASunday, May 9th 2010 5:07PM
Catie, Thanks so much for a great evening at the Grange Hall. It was the perfect venue for you - your warmth and easy-going charm made everyone comfortable and happy to be in the old hall...the presence of your aunt & uncle, and cousin made us all feel like extended family. Many songs brought laughter and some brought more poignant emotions - isn't that the sign of true art?
I hope you'll come back again...keep on writing your poetry/music, and it will be our pleasure to keep on listening.
We say you in the "swimming pool". We we up on the balcony and you were FABULOUS! We took you home with us! Since we liked you so much, we bought three of your CD's and listened to you all the way home to south FL. Your music is so fresh and clean. Your voice is so smooth and clear. A refreshing blend. Great listening.

Carolyn in HoustonThursday, February 18th 2010 8:31PM
Hi Catie! My husband (though he was my fiance at the time) and I loved seeing you perform at Dosey Doe in The Woodlands, TX last year. I saw that you added some new tour dates, and I hope you'll be adding some shows in the Lone Star State soon!
It'd be great if you came back to Dosey Doe. Although the Mucky Duck used to be a great venue, it seems that lately it's been full of people who are there to socialize rather than watch the shows. There are also two other fantastic smaller venues in Houston you might check out - The Listening Room at Nia Moves (www.listeningroomhouston.com), and our favorite folk venue, Anderson Fair (www.andersonfair.com). No matter where you play in the Houston area, we'll do our best to see you and bring our friends!!
Hi Catie, Are you missing a silver/aqua pendant from the January WFMA Birchmere Concert? If so, email me at e.callinan@mchsi.com. And I LOVE "Sweet Life"; you're great!!! Thanks....
RachelWednesday, February 3rd 2010 3:49PM
Hi Catie! I can't believe you are resurfacing in my life! I was a huge fan of yours back in the days of truth from lies. At some point, you did a farewell concert I think at either passim or somerville theater and then you moved to the mid-west. Over the years I heard your songs in the backgrounds of tv shows and over the radio, but I never really followed your career. Now I see you live in Newton, as do I, and will performing at the New Art Center, where I sit on the board, this weekend. I am so excited to see you again and to meet you in person! I will introduce myself. But in case I don't see you before the show, I would like to request (if you still do the old songs) dad's yard. I just love that song and have it hummed many times over the years when my dad comes through with just the perfect thing from his basement when i need it! Thanks. Rachel Sarvey
RichSunday, January 31st 2010 12:44AM
Hi Catie. Hey, I'm looking forward to seeing you in Marblehead next month. If you don't mind may I make a request ahead of time? I would really appreciate it if you would sing Passing Through. Your song holds special significance for me. Thanks very much.
Catie, I just discovered you on my mom's I-Tunes. You were automatically there for some reason on her computer and her music got transfered when I downloaded I-Tunes. The point is, I automatically fell in love with you and within 5 minutes or 10 songs I listened to, whichever came first, I went straight to your website to see who this awesome voice looked like. It's like Sheryl Crow and Sarah McLachlan, 2 of my favorite artist, had a beautiful baby girl with her own beautiful voice. You are awesome and now have a new fan.
KathleenThursday, January 7th 2010 11:41PM
Hi Catie, I have to second the sentiment of the previous individual's post. I know that you kind of spoiled us out here in Colorado in 2008-2009 but I'm getting a little nervous that I haven't seen any shows posted for 2010! Should I be planning a road trip soon or is there any hope that we'll see you out this way this year? Hope all is well!
ColoradoTuesday, December 29th 2009 2:37AM
I read in the comments below from someone about you playing in Denver and the Springs. Any chance of coming back this way? I'm in the Army and stationed in Colorado Springs. I think your music and you are so beautiful.
Know that even strangers care and are thinking about you. Keep your head up. With arms open wide...Angie.

DOesnt it get hard being on teh road all the time like that??
Yes but I'm home right now! :)
re Hampton Roads, VAWednesday, December 16th 2009 4:09PM
Hello, Catie! I'm here in Virginia Beach, Va., and was wondering if you have any plans for performing around this neck of the woods. Norfolk and Hampton are real close to us, and even Richmond, VA is only two hours away. I've been a fan of your music for at least eight years and have yet to catch you live in concert. Hope to see you some day soon, •Tim in VA centaur1129@yahoo.com
Nothing too close ... maybe a road trip?!! Sign up on the mailing list so you'll know if I DO get close to your neck of the woods. Thanks for asking, Catie
Magnolia Street - Chelsea & ChelsieSunday, December 13th 2009 8:19PM
I commented on September 30th 2008 about you singing Magnolia Street at your October 4th 2008 concert in Chicago because it was the song my girlfriend and I claimed as "ours." When you played it, she held my hand and cried through the whole thing. She took her own life three days after our two year anniversary, which was November 19th. Along with all the things she left me, she left directions to the nearest Magnolia Street and told me that she's better now and will be on Magnolia Street with me forever. I just want to thank you for the song, Catie. This doesn't seem real - I don't think it will ever seem real, but your song really comforts me right now. Whether it ever makes sense or I ever come to grips with losing her physical body, I can always find a Magnolia Street and have a moment with my baby.
I am so sorry that this happened to you. Take good care of yourself in the coming months, Catie
New CD Hello StrangerFriday, December 11th 2009 12:21PM
Loved the Larchmont NY show. I was waiting to hear the new CD until the show and could get a signed copy. ( -:
Couldn't wait to listen to it in the car on the ride home back to NJ. It was nice to hear some favs on it like Dads Yard and Saint Lucy along with your new stuff. Dads Yard puts a lump in my throat every time I hear it.
Loved that you had Soulfully in your playlist that night too...oldie but goodie. I brought some friends new to your music to the show and they loved you and your stories about your songs and family.
Thanks again! - Dorothy (NJ)
Thank You!Wednesday, December 2nd 2009 10:03PM
Catie,
I loved your recent show at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA! I especially enjoyed Lindsay Mac! She's amazing! I can't stop listening to her CD....Thank you for introducing her to me...(so to speak :)
I have been to many of your shows throughout the past several years from Natick to Somerville to Arlington. Keep 'em comin'! You rock! :)
Looking forward to Granby show!Sunday, November 29th 2009 11:54PM
Hi Catie - We're so looking forward to your show in Granby, CT this Friday. Can't wait to see you AND Lori McKenna AND Mark Erelli AND Granby-favorite Fred Wilhelm all on stage together!!
Hey Catie, Just wanted to thank you for keeping us company on our drive home after Thanksgiving this weekend. My partner and I put all your albums on shuffle on our iPod as we left the hotel at 6am and you were with us all the way from Indianapolis to Springdale, AR!! Keep putting out albums so we can drive even further next time! Laura & Carolyn

Hi Catie, After having a rather brutal therapy session yesterday, I went to purchase a book recommended by my therapist. While in the store, I browsed the folk music section (which seems to be rapidly shrinking!) and found the one and only cd by you that they had in stock. On impulse, I brought "Sweet Life" home and your wonderful optimism and life-affirming messages brought some much needed light to my day. I heard many of these songs while I was visiting Portland, OR last year when you played along with Eliza Gilkyson. Now I look forward to seeing you on my home turf (Carrboro) in January. Thanks for your light.
I would like to add that many of those songs are inspired by brutal therapy sessions of my own. Glad you found Sweet Life. Best of luck on your journey! c
My younger sister is so crazy about you and your music. You will be in my area on Dec 4th. She recently lost her husband, her best friend & soul mate, in a tragic drowning accident and your music helps her tremendously. I think she is healing and her wanting to go see you live is a step in the right direction. Is there any possible way you can give her a shout out while we're watching you perform in Granby?
No Cleveland Thanksgiving show?Tuesday, November 17th 2009 7:14PM
Hi Catie! We were hoping to see you in Cleveland this Thanksgiving...it has become a bit of a tradition. We were at the show last year with our two kids...had a great time. Maybe next year? Have a nice holiday!
thanks for visiting Carrboro NC JanuaryMonday, November 16th 2009 12:02PM
Hi Catie,
I hope you and your family are doing well. I am so happy that you will be playing at the Arts Center in Carrboro, NC on 1/16/2010. I think you will really enjoy the town and the venue. And thanks for all your wonderful music :-)
Wheres the song? Saturday, November 14th 2009 4:25PM
I was just at the benefit concert for Safe Passage. Wonderiing if the hilarious song about feeling guilty about not living up to your liberal ideals is recorded anywhere. It should be it was great!
It's not recorded yet. It's called "Coulda Shoulda," co-written with Mark Simos. Thanks for asking!
CanadaTuesday, November 3rd 2009 10:55AM
I love your music. It is so enspiring. There is nothing better than going home and lighting some candles turning on your music and having a glass of wine! Wondering if you have any plans in the future to visting New Brunswick Canada?
Cross Over To MeWednesday, October 28th 2009 4:15PM
Just heard this song for the first time. I doubt that you wrote that song with this intent, but it spoke to me of my relationship with my firstborn son that I gave up for adoption, am in reunion with now after 30 years. It is a beautiful song, thank you.
I am touched to hear that. Thanks for writing. As you may know, I have 2 adopted kids, and they hope and dream that the birthmom would feel this way if/when they are ever reunited. It wasn't the original intent of the song, but I can see how that makes sense! Be well, Catie
Hey I just heard your music for the first time on WGWG in Spindale N.C. and it was the new song Passin' Through and I loved it. The song has great meaning and depth, even though the message is so simple that everyone should share that philosophy. Thank You so much, Rev. Brian Dockins
West Coast TourTuesday, September 15th 2009 11:18PM
Sorry to see that your West Coast tour stops so far south this year. Oregon and Washington will miss you. All my best to you and your wonderful family.
Warner copyrightMonday, September 14th 2009 2:13PM
Hi Catie on Monday, August 4th 2008 2:02PM in this comment site you asked to see the link to a video I made about my Dad using your song Dad's Yard. You were kind enough to say it was "very emotional" and thanked me for sharing. I had posted it on Youtube and Facebook but now it is disabled by Warner for copyright reasons. I need "written permission" to use the song. I'm not sure what to do next, but I do think it is worth pursuing. Jana I would like to dispute the copyright claim, but thought I would make sure you are onside.
Venice the SeriesThursday, August 27th 2009 4:53PM

Bob Weiser, host The Old Songs' Home Mondays 930 am-1230 pm
I am a new listener, and I love it! :) I am happy to see that you will be in southern CA this fall! I will definitely have to make it over. Also, thanks for all of the activist work you seem to be doing! I have been doing a lot of work for marriage equality in CA. I am organizing a small event at my church in a couple of weeks to celebrate the 18,000 marriages that occurred in 2008, and the many more that will happen in the future! I hope to use some of your music (if that's okay of course :)). Thanks again! You are a blessing!
With hope, Sarah, age 18
JohnFriday, June 5th 2009 10:11AM
Thanks for the show in Cincy last month! Hope to see you again.
Hi Catie, been a fan for years and have never seen you live (it doesn't help that I live in Ireland!). I'm heading to Chicago for 4th of July - any chance of a gig? :) Jen, Dublin
DeanaSaturday, May 16th 2009 1:57AM
Hi Catie, I woke up this morning thinking about my recent trip to Montrose. I, of course, thought about the concert I was invited to that Saturday night by Kathy & Dave. Seeing your show put the icing on the cake for my weekend adventure. I just wanted to let you know that your music is beautifully moving. You have an incredible stage presence and a great sense of humor. I noticed you will be in Flagstaff soon - I'm planning on gathering some friends and coming up from Phoenix. See ya then.
Apology from Bib GirlFriday, May 15th 2009 11:20AM
Catie,
I have been so moved by your music and feel as though your songs have complimented my journey starting with Magnolia Street, long drives from MA to ME, ME to MA listening to Elizabeth, a commitment ceremony My Dads Yard dance with my Dad, 3 New Flowers and a really Sweet Life!
I was looking for somewhere more private to apologize but here it goesmy partner and I were at Jonathans for our first concert since our daughter born and I had one too many mommys night out martinis. Im definitely not the obnoxious type...just a big fan, moved by your music and apparently martinis. Weve seen you since at SMAC and I was still perseverating hoping you werent thinking I was a nut so I thought I should just put it out there. I hope you can accept my apology.
First of all, I too love the Mommy's Night Out Martini(s). Second of all, I can't remember any obnoxious incidents that night. Third, can't think of a third... thanks for writing. c
Catie, I was just thinking this morning how much I really enjoyed the show in Montrose. Your music is beautifully moving, you have an incredible stage presence and a great sense of humor! I am planing on driving to Flagstaff, from Phoenix, to see your show - we should be having beautiful weather then. Thanks for making that stop in Montrose, it made my weekend even better.
hope your workshop went well! c
Catie's Mom in Maine!Friday, May 8th 2009 11:09AM
Hi Catie! That's awesome that your mom was part of making things happen in Maine! You must be very proud. We should all be lucky enough to have parents who get to (or start at) the place your mother is. Take care, and happy mother's day to you! Johanna in Austin
Concert on Friday May 8Thursday, May 7th 2009 3:04PM
Hi Catie,
My gf and I are coming from Montreal to your concert with Cheryl Wheeler tomorrow night. We are hoping you sing Magnolia Street as it's "our" song. When I asked her to marry me, that song was playing in the background. She said "yes"so it apparently worked.
Catie, the videos from the Madison show look and sound phenomenal. They make me wonder why I ever moved out of that area. I hope the energy was rejuvenating for you.
Terri Sunday, May 3rd 2009 8:00PM
Catie, saw you for the first time live in Ft. Atkinson. What a thrill for us in the midwest! Your music and talents are incredible and your songs really speak to this heart of mine. Thank you!
Hi Catie: Thank you for a great performance. You are a remarkable song writer and performer. Your new song about leaving this world and going to the next is a hard subject to present. A new beginning starts with an ending, no one dies they live on through those that loved them. Your song echoed that to my heart. GBY Catie to you and your family. Mo from Chicago
MadisonFriday, May 1st 2009 10:20AM
Catie--thanks for coming out to Madison for the Progressive benefit!!! The concert was so awesome and inspiring--I was just disappointed that you couldn't play more!!! Please come to Madison again sometime soon!! (we loved your show at High Noon Saloon--but that was already a few years back!!)
KathleenThursday, April 23rd 2009 9:55PM
Hi Catie,
I just wanted to say a very heartfelt "thank you" for taking the time to hang out with us in Montrose. It meant a lot to both of us and we truly appreciate it!
In a somewhat strange twist of events since we last saw you, it looks as though there's a good chance that I'm going to be heading to the Chicago area the weekend of May 1. If that's the case, I'll most likely use the opportunity to check out your shows on Friday and Saturday. Looking forward to getting spoiled by two more nights of great music!
Bull Run RestaurantTuesday, April 14th 2009 12:00PM
Catie, you played an amazing concert. I had the most fun I can remember having in a long time. I am coming to see you again on 11th in N. Andover. Can you play What's the Matter? It was the first song of yours I ever heard and I have never heard you play it in concert.
Teenagers and GuitarsTuesday, April 14th 2009 12:00PM
Hi Catie, I am a school social worker in Albany, NY and I am working with a 7th grade girl who is passionate about music, but whose family does not have the means to help support her passion. I was wondering how she might apply for a guitar under your Aspire to Inspire (I think that is what it is called) program? Thanks! ~Liz
Dinky Village Lisa :)Tuesday, April 14th 2009 12:00PM

Hi Catie, Just wanted to say a quick thanks for coming to Austin! It was really great to see you here (after having moved from the east coast recently). I know it was a long trip and a relatively small crowd, but we really appreciated your being here (great show!) and appreciated the opportunity to chat with you after the show. Looking forward to the upcoming new album - until then, safe travels and take care. Johanna and Mary

Coming to AustinWednesday, March 11th 2009 12:22AM
I have had Bicycle Named Heaven on my iPod for years and was curious what you have been up to in recent years. Low in behold, I see that you are coming to Austin!!! The bummer, I will be teaching my American Courts course at St. Edward's. Anyway, I will probably not be able to come to see you. Nevertheless, I hope you have a great time at the Cactus! Is it wrong for the professor to cut class???
Cheers, Ryan Kellus Turner
what would it take to bring the class on a field trip???
Great show tonight in DenverSaturday, March 7th 2009 2:06AM
The show tonight was amazing, but I've come to expect that from you. I was the one who showed you my tattoos afterward, and I realized you probaby didn't catch what they say. On one wrist, it says "change the world", and on the other, "within my reach". I wanted to show you not in some crazy stalkerish way, but just as a way to say thank you for making amazing music and inspiring so many people. Enjoy Colorado while you are here and feel free to come back more often.
karla Friday, March 6th 2009 8:25PM

my wife and I saw you play in Maine 10 or so years ago and we bought Truth from Lies. It remains one of my favorite albums of all time. I have always felt that your talent is on par with the best singer songwriter guitar players. I am surprised that you have not achieved the global recognition you deserve. I put you on thee same level as Joni Mitchell or Cheryl Crow. We hope you come back to Maine soon
Hey Catie and her folks... we are excited about having you appear at the Carlisle PA Theatre. You'll be happy t o0know that XPN has already latched onto this show as one to partner with. Any area websites you reccomend that we utilize to help push your show...Thanks, Thom O'Neil, Programming, Carlisle Theatre

RichSunday, February 15th 2009 8:45PM
Just bought "Sweet LIfe." I've only listed to it all the way through twice, and it's pretty good. I first heard a song of yours on the radio (I think it was My Shirt Looks Good on You.) and subsequently bought "Dreaming in Romance Languages." I really love "Deliver Me" from that album... I was hoping for a bit a bluesiness on "Sweet LIfe," but it sounds more like domestic bliss, which is fine, and probably good medicine for our times, but I like a little grit. The upcoming bluesgrass cd intrigues me. Keep up the good work.
What time would you like me to be there? As it's a Saturday i am quite flexible. rouf2@aol.com

Catie, I love your music, the energy and soul you put into it. You're a fabulous artist with a lot of wisdom and a heart of gold. Hope you'll be heading to Canada sometime soon, I would love to see you doing your thing live!! Take care :)
AbbyFriday, February 6th 2009 9:22AM
Hi Catie! I'm not sure if you're still taking suggestions for the Nashville CD, but might there be a place for "Home Team"...perhaps it could be made bluegrassy? Great pictures from the HRC Ball...looks like it was a grand time! It's so cool you are playing in Belfast and Nanci Griffith will be there, too! She was really the person who opened my ears to folk music when I was younger. Enjoy your time there!
On another note, the news has been getting more and more depressing, job cuts everywhere (including my school, probably with more to come), progress for gays and lesbians regressing, the war still far from conclusion, etc. It's discouraging. I put the Sweet Life CD in this morning, because I thought it would make me feel better and it did. I listened to "Fools" on repeat. Thank you for that song. It was the reminder I needed and it is going to be my mantra for the time to come. All the Best! Abby
Catie! Just saw that you are playing a show in Austin! Used to see you all the time at the Birchmere, can't wait to see you here! Thanks for coming!
Thanks for writing... Re: the Cactus Cafe, please spread the word! I have a tiny little mailing list in Austin. Thanks. Catie

I lso wanted to ask you if you could sing "Wallpapper Dreams" at your show in Framingham Ma, on Jan. 30th. It's one of my favorites? So could you?! That would be great. I can't wait to see you again. Love your music!!

Catie, you are without a doubt an awesome entertainer, personable and humble. Berkshire County, MA is fortunate to have welcomed you many times ~ now you are on stage for a Historic Event that this Nation has longed for. Thank you for your strength and being an inspiration for those LGBTQI individuals coming out. Peace to you and yours.

Are you freakin' kidding me? Heck ya, you're dropping everything! :) Way to go, Catie. Forget my beefs with HRC for now, that's quite an honor and great company to keep...oh yeah, and the musician lineup ain't all bad either! ;)
Congratulations on the inaugural ball! That's amazing. Come to Kentucky! Or at least close to us, please! Maybe Indianapolis? Happy New Year!
AbbyWednesday, December 31st 2008 9:28AM
Congratulations on your invitation to play at the Human Rights Campaign Inaugural Ball! How exciting! Have a blast!!!! Happy New Year, too, to you and your family! Hope to see you in '09!
MaggieFriday, December 19th 2008 11:12AM
Thanks for another year of great music, Catie. Hope all is well with you and your family (especially in the wake of last week's storm and in preparation for the one coming). Happy holidays!
Hi there :) I've got tickets to your show in RI in November, and I cannot wait!! I realized that I've been seeing you perform, and enjoying your music, since 1996 or so...saw you in Michigan at that Unitarian Church with the scary parking lot, then saw you when I lived up in Alaska...now I'm living in CT and will see you in RI. Wow, I am one determined fan! Your music and lyrics just dazzle me, Catie. Now I even play guitar - badly - and sing your tunes to my pups. Keep on living the sweet life and telling us all about it through your music. Have a wonderful, happy new year. :) Be blessed!
Kate AsheMonday, December 8th 2008 10:12AM
Catie, I've meant to write you for a couple of years to tell you that your song 'Magnolia Street' describes how my partner and I fell in love. It meant so much to us that our first daughter born 3/13/07 is named Magnolia. Thank you for your beautiful and insprirational music. We're looking forward to listening to the new CD. Sorry we just missed you at the Iron Horse!
Catie, I don't believe you are coming to the UK and not going on tour. I would dearly love to see you live (without having to travel to London). Please, please, please extend your trip and perform in Liverpool (European Capital of Culture) or Manchester. Kev
HeatherSunday, December 7th 2008 2:19PM
Love the guitar, Aspire shot! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you, Liz & the girls! xo
Catie - Congrats on the Washington Post article (and on your great new album)! Please come to Austin!
Kim Stowell (editor@optionsri.org)Tuesday, December 2nd 2008 12:11PM
Catie, dear -- I hear you are going to be at the Stone Soup Coffeehouse at the end of January. Would you consider giving an interview to Options, the newsmagazine for the LGBT community in RI? I've stuck my email address on the end of my name, and I'll include our web address too. Let me know! Thanks for the music -- Kim
the FOX clip was good, but please tell us you didn't cut the part out about being a born again because it was fox and so they made you????? :) i'm hoping that it was just cuz of time or something??? but you had to cut THAT line??? :) :)
Nope the reason I cut half of that verse was because they only needed 2.25 minutes! They were actually so sweet and kind and I'm sure it would have been fine.
RachaelSaturday, November 22nd 2008 3:14PM
I just saw you last night at the Birchmere. Great show!! I tried to sign-up for your mailing list and received an error. I'm really interested in your recording of "Be Sixteen With Me". Let us all know when we can purchase it. Thanks.
Rachael
I've been hearing this from people who try to sign up from a work address, although it could be another problem this time. To sign up on the mailing list (if you're having trouble) please send an email to CatieMail@aol.com, with "Please add to mailing list" in the subject heading, and I'll take care of it! Catie

Catie - I just saw your show at the Gravity Lounge in Charlotteville. You were wonderful! I went on youtube to try to find the teenager song you sang in order to entertain my husband (we 3 have three children who act like teenagers even though they are only 5, 9, & 11). I had no luck finding it. Any advice?
Don White who wrote and performs "Be Sixteen with Me" has a website at http://www.donwhite.net/, and it looks like the song is featured on his new DVD. I am also having trouble finding it again on YouTube.
This was me in March: Devra -- Monday, March 24th 2008 12:28PM
I used to hear you sing at the Hillel at Brown; Bonanza Baby is still one of those songs that echoes in my head on weekends...so glad to see that you are still performing, and doing so well! Looking forward to hearing you at the AU simulcast tomorrow!
And now I see you'll be at the Birchmere this Friday! I have to see if there are still tickets. Hope to see you (and maybe hear "Bonanza Baby"?)
Sharon WhiteMonday, November 17th 2008 7:31PM
Just heard your song " Are you Ready to Fly" and it really touched me as I have 2 sons who just went away to college and they both jumped off a bridge into the lake on their graduation!!I am a fellow singer-songwriter so really can appreciate your wonderful lyrics.
Is that "Bling" on Sam pictured on the home page? ;) Sam's got BLING

I was perusing the books on CD at the Framingham Library last week when a flaming pink jewel case across the aisle caught my eye - it was the the music section. I thought "I know that cover, it looks like Sweet Life," and lo and behold it was. Why did they use this neon case? I pulled it off the kiosk and laughed out loud - there was a big, bold sticker which instructed, in all caps, "DO NOT FILE WITH RAP MUSIC." Hhmm, I hadn't realized that Catie was a rapper. Ah, Massachusetts! I love her nonetheless!

In case anyone missed it. A reminder that being an ally isn't just about defending someone that you know, it's about defending what is right.
Really looking forward to the London gig... it's been too long.

Catie has been such a wonderful revitalizing element for us all -- revisiting and refreshing dreams of years past -- to try anew ! Don't see any gigs in Illinois -- coming to the BlueMoon coffee house ?

Tampa, Florida misses you! You should consider playing in Florida soon! I am really enjoying "Sweet Life!"
Hi! I'm looking for the chords to the Mark Sandman song, Patience, from "My Shirt Looks Good On You". The lyrics are here on the site, but I'm having trouble figuring out a couple of the chords. Would it be possible for someone to post them?

MBTuesday, November 4th 2008 11:07PM
I walked out of my polling location this morning with my heart swelling with pride. I got into my car and my CD advanced to the next track--People Look Around, and I felt the weight of this day. And now, as I watch the crowd back home in Grant Park and see the CNN projection for Sen. Obama's victory, I know we are at but the first step in what will be a long road to turn this country around. By turning out in record numbers today, we have accepted responsibility to make this historic day a historic term. I hope we can recognize and accept this responsibility and make the most of the next four years. Peace to you.

we are so excited to see you coming to Cleveland. we've missed you the last couple of times. it seems you tend to come here around the holidays...i assume to visit your in-laws. we are usually out of town visiting our families at the same time. we will arrange our travel plans to get back from thanksgiving weekend for your show Sunday night, though. Hannah, age 9, and Carter, age 6, love "hey california" "are you ready to fly" and "red light"...if you could play any of those, we'd appreciate it! see you soon!

Hey Catie. Fantastic show in Portland! I know everyone loves your music and tells you all of the time - as they should! I figured it couldn't hurt your image to let know... You're a hottie. Of course your music is absolutely the best. Who wouldn't want to hear that they're looking good! :)
Thanks for the subliminal message. Nice.
Jennifer from MaineSaturday, October 25th 2008 11:38PM
Have seen you inconcert several times and when I heard about the chance to see you in Arlington, MA in November, quickly began working on a babysitter. Our first night away from the kids all night in a very long time.
I want you to know that yesterday Long Night Moon was playing in our car, and my 10 year old perked up. She heard it differently than she ever had before, we adopted her from Vietnam and it sparked a new way to talk aobut her birth country and her birth mom. Thank you, it was a gift.
Hi, I was at your show at Berkshire College and I also went out to eat with you. I just wanted to tell you I listened to your CD Sweet Life and I love every track. And I saw the video "Happy", which was great!! Take care and continue to inspire people, like you inspired me.

I love your music. Come to Madison Wisconsin
Heather S. from BendThursday, October 16th 2008 12:03AM
Hi Catie! I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to your show this Friday night in Bend. I so appreciate you adding Bend to your tour (in addition to the usual Eugene and Portland). I drove over the mountains last fall to see you in a great show with Chris Pureka in Eugene -- this time I'll be biking over to the Old Stone Church with friends after eating pizza at a favorite local (and nearby) place -- "Jackson's Corner" -- come join us if you want some great pizza!
Mostly I just want to say how much I appreciate and value your positive outlook right now when so much is so grim. I am loving "Sweet Life." Will you please play Rope Swings and Avalanches on Friday? I'm assuming you'll play "Sweet Life" or else I'd request that one too.
Thanks so much. Can't wait to see you Friday! Cheers, Heather

Catie - as always it was wonderful seeing you again in Ann Arbor at the Ark. We introduced a friend of ours (Diane) to you and your music that evening, and I must say at the end of the show, you've found another fan for life. Diane talked about you and your music all the way home!! Your new album/CD is wonderful as always, there's a few comforting songs that have come in handy for Pat and I. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see you again.
Wednesday, October 15th 2008 6:07PM
Hi, Catie!
I've been a big fan for years, and I've seen you play all over the place – Mount Holyoke College, The Ark, and BlissFest, among others.
I just moved to LA. Any chance that you'll be heading out here? You could even play California and make me miss New England winters.
I just played LA on Oct 9... I'll be back next year, though, sorry to miss you this time.
Tuesday, October 14th 2008 8:23PM
Catie...GF...you said no Cleveland!!! The Columbus venue was fun anyways. My kids want to see you so if I can scrape up the $ I might take them to the beachland ballroom in Novemeber...only if you sing "heh california" for my eight year old...just jokin with ya...no hard feelings its great that your letting more of ohio enjoy your talant!
I AM SO SORRY!!! You are absolutely right, I thought there was not going to be a Cleveland show! This show just got added. I will put you on the Cleveland guest list if you want, seriously. You deserve it after trekking all the way to Columbus. Send your name to me at catiemail@aol.com (which I check only about once a month, so do it soon so I don't miss it!)
Saw your show in Ann Arbor at the Ark... I was on vacation meeting a woman I'd met online and this was one of our "dates" that week. It was such a nice way to spend time together considering one of our connecting points has been your music! Thank you for an excellent show, your kind words and conversation while signing her disc, and for the gift of your music. You're one of my favorite singer-songwriters & your voice has such passion and emotion!
CynthiaMonday, October 6th 2008 8:09PM
My wife Beth and I came to see your show in Chicago. It was my birthday (Friday) and the tickets were my present. I have wanted to see you for years!! I loved every minute of it. After thanking her for the 10th time and telling her how much I loved it she said she could tell by the smile that never left my face! And, having a couple of teens... we LOVED the song (name?) you sang at the prompting of your sister. Will it be recorded anytime soon? Thank you, thank you for bringing such wonderful music to our lives. Well wishes to you and your family. And, hello to Ingrid and her mom... we loved chatting with her.
DebraMonday, October 6th 2008 1:43PM
Catie,
Once again let me tell you that the 10/4 show at Old Town School of Folk Music was terrific.
I keep hoping that you weren't offended when I mentioned that it took me a couple of songs to realize how great you were upon hearing you approximately 15 years ago when you played at OTSFM on Armitage. You had seemed a little nervous at first but quickly found your stride and a permanent place in my musical heart. (Forget the comment about the beer!!! :P )
Your music is an absolute STAPLE for me now and I will continue to search out your performances. I was ecstatic to see you in Lyons (2000-ish? performing, not teaching). IMHO you stole the show! A couple of years ago I got to see you at OTSFM with Patty Larkin where I gladly turned another friend onto your awesome music.
Please keep coming to Chicago - we can commiserate about cold weather! Meanwhile, are you teaching in Lyons in 2009?
I was the Camp Store Lady at Miniwanca two summers ago -- secretly newly pregnant and learning all about motherhood from across the Eating Lodge table from you! My baby girl, Ellie (Eliana), is 6 1/2 months old now.
I was listening to KFOG this morning in Palo Alto, CA (they have an "Acoustic Sunrise" program every Sunday morning) and heard a song that I hadn't heard before but I was sure it was your distinctive, mellow, soulful voice. I looked it up when I got home -- it was Wise to the Ways. I'm SO, SO excited that you're being played on KFOG! Well done!
I'll see if I can find a babysitter for one of your Berkeley shows next weekend. It'd be awesome to see you perform!
I am 7. I like your singing and songs! I went to one of your concerts at the old town school this weekend. My mom and dad like your singing to! Tell Ingrid I love cats! Good luck!
MBThursday, October 2nd 2008 9:17PM
Catie! The Happy video is pretty cool. It's great to see that Sam is doing well, and that birthday celebration I heard about a couple shows ago. Best to you and safe travels on this fall tour.
Catie, You might remember me - I performed during your musical break at CAV in Providence and booked you to perform at The Spoken Word poetry series years ago and we've had contact on and off since then. Whether you remember me or not, I wanted to thank you. I got married a week ago to someone I first met at that same poetry reading who is a fan of yours as well. Our first dance was to Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You" but we cut it short and transitioned into him playing a song he had written for me on his guitar. But we had a complete second dance and it was to Magnolia Street. It was wonderful. Thank you.
I'm sure you get these questions all the time, but my girlfriend and I will be at the 10pm show in Chicago this Saturday (October 4th) and 'our song' is Magnolia Street - I was wondering if you plan on playing it or not? I don't want to get my hopes up, but it would be absolutely amazing if you did :)! We are very excited to see you either way, though.
Yep, planning on playing Magnolia Street!! c
Julie FlottenMonday, September 29th 2008 1:07PM
Catie--Come back to Duluth! It was a great concert last year at Sacred Heart and we'd love to host you again! --Julie Flotten
Thanks for Columbus:) You touched me when you talked about "getting lost as being part of the journey". Sometimes getting lost is ok and you can take it in stride and sometimes you feel like youve been lost for such a long long time and wonder if you'll survive. Your performance was a gliimer of light in the darkness of what feels like an eternity of being lost for me. Thank you.
amySaturday, September 27th 2008 7:47PM
So...Columbus...Dinner at Olive Garden, 26.50...babysitter...35.00...tickets to concert...46.00... stories about peas & petting zoos and hearing Catie Curtis sing...PRICELESS. Thank You Catie...what a wonderful evening!!! You made me cry several times...most especially during Elizabeth. Thanks Again!
CouperSaturday, September 27th 2008 12:50PM
Thank you so much for inspiring us in Ohio last night, through highs and lows, from beginning to end. You are offering so much good through your life and music. A couple of the many sweet connections you made last night: The whine of the train in Cincinnati, where we live, is a sound of my work neighborhood, and "Elizabeth" has been a comforting part of my young daughter's acoustic world. As you sang about not wanting it to be over, I heard echoes of "let me play just one more song" and felt again the importance of the love you continue to let us share.
I found your self-titled album in a library 8 years ago in the middle of suburbia MN. Thank God for librarians.
Are you coming to Minneapolis? How do I make this happen?
amyMonday, September 22nd 2008 9:39PM
OK Columbus it is:)
Sunday, September 21st 2008 8:35PM
Catie are you playin in Cleveland at Christmas time??? Just wnat to know if I should see you in Columbus Friday or if I can see you closer in Cleveland??? Cant wait to see ya either way!
hey, I will not be playing a show in Cleveland in 2008, and I don't have another Cleveland show on the books yet... sorry, but you'll have to drive to Columbus! Catie
I must have been overly tired yesterday… I apologize for botching the name of your charity. Clearly, Aspire to Inspire makes much more sense and clearly, Shubas is really Schubas :)
Tuesday, September 16th 2008 7:08PM
Hi Catie,
I've been listening to your new album non-stop for the past week and when I can't be near a CD player/Ipod, your songs are consistently "playing" in my head. I have to agree with something you said earlier on your website… I think that you have outdone yourself and this truly is your best work to date (that's the best compliment I can give based on my opinion of your previous work)! It's been fun seeing the metamorphosis of your songs from live performances to their versions on the CD (especially "Sweet Life"… I remember you playing that as just a couple of verses in a really light, fun way what seems like forever ago… I think it was at Shubas?). Anyway, as always thank you for your music and well done on "Inspire to Aspire"… I'm making my donation today!
Thanks for donating to Aspire to Inspire... the kids who will get the guitars thanks you in advance! Catie
J.M. ErosTuesday, September 16th 2008 7:30AM
Hi Catie --
I've been meaning to somehow drop you a line for ages. I bought Dreaming in Romance Languages in Ashville, NC in 2004 and drove to New Mexico listening to it off and on the whole way. I left the east driving through ten hours of rain from the remnants of hurricane Ivan (remember that one?) and stopping in New Orleans ('hurricanes half price'... bittersweet memory), and the album has through the years perfectly interpreted the love and pain of the American South for me. What a touchstone. The album is one of the most well-written, moving, and imaginative I own -- Cross over the Me," The Trouble you Bring," Life Goes On," and of course "St. Lucy" -- an album of hole-in-one's, I always think. Usually one of the first things I grab on a Saturday morning or for a mix tape for a friend or lover... Romance languages indeed. (Killer title too.) Anyhow. This is a bit gushy I guess but I always wanted to compliment you on how tremendous the album is. I've been a BUM and not looked you up since then (being so contented with one complex and rewarding LP, as it were) but I am psyched to check out your new album and catch up with Long Night Moon and your other work.
Ages ago you played a set at my alma mater, Williams College way out in the MA sticks), and I will always remember how you managed to play despite one and then TWO broken strings. And then on a borrowed guitar. You are such a pro, and knocked our socks off.
Thanks for your fantastic music and generous spirit.
O.M.G. Catie!!! Bravo and cheers to you...and your extrodinary talent... you have been blessed! Love...love the "Sweet Life"...Excellent CD, very well done!! Its going to be some time before it sees the outside my cd player! See you Dec. 5th in Northampton, Mass. (my hometown) = )

i hate germany. i can't buy your new cd in store and you wouldn't have any gigs here. i'd love to see you live on stage with your guitar. i love your music. i'm playing the guitar, too and most of your songs are easy to play AND beautiful to sing. perfect.
Gerard KiernanFriday, September 12th 2008 7:06AM
Just got Sweet Life in the mail . Thanks for a cool record. I preordered it after seeing you play Armadillo's Burritos in Keene , New Hampshire. It is an odd venue, but has made me a fan and CD buyer for you , Mark Erelli, Marwood, Jeffrey Foucault and others. The song 'Sweet Life' is wonderful and it occupies a special place for me along with the old Poi Dog Pondering song, 'Thanksgiving' , ...for every wrong move that made it right. On another note, here in Keene we love Gene Robinson, our episcopal bishop , who happens to be gay, but who speaks to our common struggles as people. In your case, after a while, I deduced that your partner was a woman. I am really looking forward to a time where everyone can celebrate love, in its variety, as the force that can save us. It can be wierd, I imagine, when the personal becomes someone else's political. Anway, keep playing wierd venues in small towns!
Catie, thanks for the most gracious and completely awesome performance in Fall River, MA. You are more amazing each time we see you. You are such a special part of our "sweet life"....we can't wait for our next trip to catch you again.
Susie & BonnieSunday, September 7th 2008 10:25AM
Thanks, as always, for a great show at Jonathan's. My 30th show was as fun and wonderful and beautiful as my first and I am looking forward to 30 plus more. You continue to inspire with your life and music! Thank you again for the wonderful gift, I was stunned! Much Peace, Susie

Catie, Please come back to Utah soon. We love you!
Catie, Just listened to Sweet Life at lunch time today, you have out done yourself again. What a wonderful CD. Ordered it from Compass Records on the Aug 29th and it was in my mail box on Sept 2nd, Great service. so you people out there what are your waiting for buy buy buy. We will see you at the Tractor tavern in Octor. This is how we are ending our 18 day cruise thru the panamal canal, seeing you will cap the vacation off perfectly. From the girls in the front row.

Hi! I've been trying to register for the mailing list, but it doesn't seem to work if your zip/postal code is outside the US (I live in Belgium). Is there another way to get on the list? Best regards from far-away Belgium!
YES! send your address to me at CatieMail@aol.com and I will get you on the list. Thanks! Catie

Hey Catie - so sorry I missed your concert recently! It was wonderful to see you at FCC in Saco - you haven't changed a bit from Liesel! Well, maybe you have.....in a GOOD way! I'll be sure to catch you when you're back from your tour! Good luck and keep singing as beautifully as you do! Lynn :)
Catie, Great seeing you again at Jonathan's. Loved your choice with Edie to start the show off, I thought she was great. Your show was great, enjoyed it very much, loved the new songs, and looking forward to the new album.... K

Hi Catie! Please come to Austin! I recently relocated from the DC/Baltimore area and fear I'll never see you live again! As I'm sure you know, Austin is a great music town. Can't wait for the new album - congrats on what I'm sure will be another great collection of music!

Here is the link to the video about my Dad who had an acreage and storage business and lots of STUFF! It uses the music "Dad's Yard". He passed away Dec 5, 2005 and I made the slideshow/video for his memorial service. Thanks for your music and your interest.
At the last show, you played a song with the lyric, "A circle of love is being drawn around you...so sing" or something like that...is that the same as the song "sing" on the new album? if not, do you recall which song I'm thinking of?
be well..
matt
Yep, that's the song SING, and it's on the new CD thanks for asking! catie
Monday, August 4th 2008 2:02PM
Catie... I am 57 years old and haven't bought a record or CD since Brenda Lee! But I bought Truth from Lies when my Dad died because the song, Dad's Yard is so him! I guess I am asking after the fact... I hope I could use it for a video slideshow of his life. I would like to post it on the web, Maybe you would like to see it? and... my Mom just died with Alzheimers' and ... "I have my (grand)mother's name"
Hi Jane, Yes, it would be wonderful to see your Dad's photos set to the song Dad's Yard. Please post a link, if you'd like, so we can view it. Sorry for your painful loss. Catie
MarySunday, August 3rd 2008 2:05PM
Awesome show in Keene on the 27th, as always. It was particularly special for my good friend who has been trying to get to a concert for a couple of years now!
Shelly-- it was my pleasure to hang out with you all. Maybe I'll pass through Keene for lunch sometime!
Catie is coming to San Diego in October! We had tickets for last year, but didn't end of going because our babysitter couldn't make it at the last minute. Very excited.

Libbie Rolfe (Linda Maguire's friend)Sunday, July 20th 2008 10:11PM
We enjoyed your Sunset concert at Camp Blodgett on Tuesday. I have enjoyed listening to the CD as well. My friend wanted to hear the words again to the song you sang about the parents going out all night and the kids at home worried. Can you give her any of the words? She just wants them to share with a friend who shares with her the problems of young adult children. I talked to Linda today. They had quite a storm where they stay in the summer. They were spared though. She said that your dad has been elected into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame. How wonderful! Your eyes and face showed how much you loved your little girls. How cute. Libbie rolfetom@chartermi.net
catie:) how about ohio again?? I was at the beachland ballroom. Was there really early and peeked in and saw u doin your sound check...i was to shy to say hi.

Still awaiting your return to the UK. I too would like to echo the sentiments mentioned below about tangled stories, pay per view sounds good.

Hi Catie, Ah, the serendipity of a rainy Sunday morning. I heard you on the "Over Easy" radio program while driving home from the post office. You sang "Dad's Yard" live and I was truly touched. So, I searched you out on Rhapsody and listened some more. Isn't it amazing how discovery is made. Rhapsody compares you to Patty Larkin who I am also a big fan of. .....Rick (a new fan from Rochester Hills, MI)
O-si-yo (Hello) Catie: my spirit thanks you for just being.
Wa-do,
Redstar

Now your marriage will be recognized in California too and it's not cold as hell here. So, get back to Cali and play some tunes!

Please come back to OKC. My old and dear freind have seen you as many times as you've been here (and Tulsa) and always look forward to your return. Unfortunately I lost control of my inner monologue and blurted out ' yes, you played that in Tulsa' (regarding Magnolia Street) and have lived with the shame since your appearance at the Blue Door. I am truly sorry if I offended you. Please come back and show my friend I am not the reason you haven't returned. I promise to be "as quiet as a mouse folding a kleenex" except for rousing applause and a little hooting. Thanks for playing "River Winding"..... Quietly, Fawn
Hi Catie, Sophia from Barcelona, here. How many artists even bother replying to their fans like you do? Noa does it occasionally...not the norm really. Thanks for replying to all your fans' questions above. I discovered you a long time ago and was wondering if you had checked into all the European festivals during the summer. Some might fit your bill. Off course, I'd like to see you in Spain, not really sure if you have ever performed over here, either. In a word, I thought you'd appreciate to hear some people had heard from you in Spain. Will also get your new album through Amazon....like Julia above. Come and check out Barcelona, it's a example as far as Mediterranean cities are concerned. Few people were disappointed with its night life, cosmopolitan and cultural outlook and architecture...Come and bring YOUR music over here sometimes! Sophia.

Hi Catie, I see you in NC everytime you are here (no matter which town). I am hoping you will remember my special request for you to play somewhere cool (outside of NC) for Halloween this year, as it is my 40th, and that is how I plan to spend it.....at a Catie Curtis show somewhere cool! I understand if Halloween is a tough time for you since that is a great holiday for kids.....but if it works out....I'll owe you one!
Dave DraperSaturday, May 31st 2008 10:19PM
hi Catie, thanks for a great night at Coffee East. I was the owner you met and really enjoyed the show! Didnt get a chance to tell you i spend most of my week in Newburyport MA so i will be on the look out for your shows in the area to see. Thanks again, hope you will return, Dave
Catie Do you have any plans, in light of the new CD, to tour the UK, perhaps next year? Also, is there any progress with "Tangled Stories"? If distribution is the problem perhaps Rob Millis' team could consider making it available via a pay download facility through a website? I'm sure there are thousands of fans who would like to see it!
hello to you and to Wendy (from the message below) I've toured a bunch in the UK but never in Australia. I would love to-- I'll mention it to my peeps!
Re: Rob Millis, I am trying to get footage from the film to make available on my site.
thanks for asking, Catie

Hi Catie,
Just wanted to let you know how much I love your music. I'm in Australia - a friend told me about your awesome music a few years ago and since then I've been enjoying your songs ... have you ever been to Australia? Would be great to see you perform here some day..
Thanks Wendy

Thank you, Catie, for dedicating Fusco's Song to Pam Long last night at Jammin' Java...i sent the lyrics out to all her friends who couldn't be at the show and they are all so deeply touched...loved your show, as always...the new stuff is beautiful :>) Fondly, M
Last night's show at Jamin Java was extraordinary! Thank you!
Thank you also for your kindness and thoughtful dedication for Pam.. who I never really knew, but given the chance I wouldn't have walked away either.. I thought I'd have more time.
MarkFriday, May 30th 2008 12:00AM
I really enjoyed your show tonight! Full of laughs and talent. Thanks for putting on such a great show - I hope to see you again soon!
Wednesday, May 28th 2008 7:20PM
Catie, I saw your show at Club Passim, it was great! Can't wait for your new CD in August. Who wrote the "16" song you did for your sister?
Don White wrote it. There's a video of him performing "Be Sixteen With Me" on YouTube which is how I learned it!
Hi Catie! I can't wait to see your show at Jamin Java this Thursday! I'm bringing my son Mark (he's 19) - he's heard me play your music for years and he grew really attached to 'Larry'.. He (and I!) would love to hear it live! Thanks for the great music!!
MarkSunday, May 25th 2008 1:26AM
Catie,
I hate to be so forward and I've never done this before, but I'm seeing you in Baltimore next week (in the basement of a church), and it would mean a lot to me to hear "Troubled Mind." So, I guess this is just a request. Hope that's okay.
Thanks... Have been a fan for years but have never had the opportunity to see you live.
Hi Catie, My friend and I saw your show at Club Passim, it was great. We first saw you perform for the PTO benefit at the Midwinter Coffee House in Newton and loved your music, it's so meanful. We are planning to see your show in Natick on July 25th. We are looking forward to your new CD in August. Take Care, Paula
I saw you at Club Passim and it was fantastic! I especially liked your song about singing in the thunderstorm because I work at a summer camp and often have found myself singing through thunderstorms. What is the name of that song? Is it on any of your records? And People Look Around is so beautiful. Can you please play in Burlington, Vermont sometime when UVM is in session, I just saw on your schedule you are playing there this summer, and I know you played in January, but both times when I wasn't there. I know I'm now the only student that wants to see you.... Thanks for being amazing!
the song is SING and it's on Sweet Life, coming out 8/26/08!

"Old age is like flying through a storm. Once you're aboard, there's nothing you can do." ~ Golda Meir
I have been listening to your music for 10 years now, and I just saw you last night at Club Passim in Cambridge and it was probably the best show I have seen yet! Unfortunately, I think the show stealer was your pug! I was so happy to hear that someone else also has their pug's snores recorded! Its not just me! Thank goodness! Many thanks!
Was listening to Dreaming in Romance Languages today and was wondering if "The Way You Are" and "The Trouble You Bring" were meant to be companion songs. I teach HS English and can't help looking for motifs (especially after a long year) and "The Way You Are" segues nicely into "The Trouble You Bring" . . .
yes! First the crush and then the trouble... c

Hi Catie! Laura and I saw your show last September in Boothbay Harbor and of course it was fabulous. You dedicated Magnolia Street to me from Laura....we also got to chat with you and your Mom. We're having a commitment ceremony at Pemaquid Point this September 14th. You and your family are welcome to join in the fun if you are in Maine! Have fun. Can't wait for the new CD.
Catie, Hi! my name is Tiffany. I am going to your upcoming show on 5/20 at club passim with my fiance Shelley. I just want you to know that we love you and your music. We have seen you countless times (you signed our jeans in new jersey with dar williams:) and we will be playing "Magnolia Street" on our wedding day. It is a very special song to us. Anyway, I was writing to ask you if you wouldn't mind playing it at club passim, and if you wouldnt mind dedicating it to shelley- from Tiffany. It is her 25th birthday on 5/21 and I want to make it special. :) thank you.

Catie, I'm trying to find some of your really old songs, like " Backbone" , and "Street Shoes". I didn't see them on this website. Are they still available somehow? Thanks! Julie G
Nope, sorry to say, those old tunes were recorded on the cassette version of Dandelion, which is out of print. Thanks for asking! Catie

Good tunes. You look like an exact twin to a gal i knew in Alaska in the 80,s. When I saw your picture my heart fluttered,do not know if it is my age or how you look like Karen. Thanks for the link to the MV station.Great tunes. Keep it up! Wild Bill,Zermatt Switzerland

Saw you for the first time at the First Parish United in Saco...great show. Your music and lyrics are fantastic. And we loved your sense of humor.
catie, Great show tonight at the Chocolate Church. You sounded great. It was nice to see you - I loved the story of the sweet 16 and elite 8. Reminded me of the days of being in the TA Gym playing horse. Your songs are great and I was glad to get to see you. All the best to you, Kate

Catie, thanks so much for your kind words about the First Freedom First show. We loved having you there and your music -- and your family -- are so beautiful!
Friday, March 28th 2008 12:31AM
Catie, we miss you in Iowa. I was at your show at Schuba's in Urbandale, near Des Moines, back in '04. Bad show in that there were a handful of fans who were there to hear you play (with Mark Erelli along for the ride), and we had to compete with the drunk foosball and pinball players in the back of the bar. You looked mildly disappointed by the ambience, but were still nice enough to chat with my wife and I for a few minutes after the show.
Anyway, Des Moines has many, many excellent venues now -- mostly downtown. You really need to come back to town. Until then, all our best go to you.
Hi Catie, I am a student at University of New England. My girlfriend and I listen to you all the time, and I am so glad you are going to be in Saco. We are looking forward to the show. My girlfriend Amy and I are engaged, and plan to have a ceremony in 2009. I was wondering if you could dedicate "Hush" to Amy and Helen at your show on Aprit 5th
DevraMonday, March 24th 2008 12:28PM
I used to hear you sing at the Hillel at Brown; Bonanza Baby is still one of those songs that echoes in my head on weekends...so glad to see that you are still performing, and doing so well! Looking forward to hearing you at the AU simulcast tomorrow!
David RoeFriday, March 21st 2008 1:58PM
Catie, i am a long time fan of your wonderfuly written songs and spiritual voice, i am from ireland and i have seen you three times on your european dates but not for some time, i relocated to boston massachusetts where i have lived since 2003, i am excited to go to your upcoming show in may in harvard square, specially to hear your new stuff your album sounds great, p.s i speak to home people all the time IRELAND LOVES YOU!!!! keep it up.
I just wanted to say that your shows in Denver and Colorado Springs were great! I appreciate that you honored my request to play "Fools" at the Springs show... I made mention to you at Song School that that song provided motivation for me to move out here to Colorado not knowing a soul. So far, it has turned out to be one of the best decisions that I have ever made! I was wondering if you are planning on instructing at Song School again this summer? Looking forward to August for the new CD!
hi K Great to see you, and I'm glad Colorado has been good for you! I hope to be back at Song School sometime in the next few years. I always say yes to Planet Bluegrass. If you have more news updates, send them to me at catiemail@aol.com. thanks, Catie
KaseyMonday, March 17th 2008 10:31AM
My partner and I were sitting on the "good" side of Steel City and were brought to tears by your live performance. Thanks for feeding our souls and for giving all of us a couple hours of peace. Meg was beautiful to all of our senses; we so enjoyed your show!! Thanks.....
ChainsawSaturday, March 15th 2008 12:49AM
Hi Catie, great show tonight in Holladay, Utah! You are so funny between songs that I get the feeling that you could put together a whole comedy routine if the folk music thing doesn't work out! Oh, and my favorite thing on the menu is the Enchiladas Suizas, which is covered in red mole! mmmm, food!
When are you coming to Kent, OH. The folk festival is an anual event, and there are multiple possible venues. We'd love to have you.
BrendaSaturday, March 8th 2008 11:55PM
Hi Catie Hope to catch your performance in Saco. So glad to have found your music.
oceansSaturday, March 8th 2008 5:03PM
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed seeing you at Cafe Lenas in Saratoga. Been going through some hard times lately and you were just what I needed to destress. Really loved the "sing-a-long" Can't wait to get the new CD. Hope you play around here again soon! :)
I was just thinking about some special moments at my wedding 5 years ago and remembered that I danced with my Dad to "Dad's Yard" during the father daughter dance and how perfect that song choice was for that moment. Thanks for such a heartfelt song.
AlisaMonday, March 3rd 2008 1:45PM
I just wanted to tell you that you put on a great show at Steel City this past weekend! It was the second time that I was able to see one of your shows! Your voice is beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing your talent! Can't wait to see you in Philly!
Mimi O' ConnorSunday, March 2nd 2008 10:16AM
Catie, What a special treat is was for me to hear you at Cafe Lena Saratoga,NY) ! You touch on all the "important stuff" and it is very soothing. With your warmth and humor, it's like you're playing in someone's kitchen!
I simply had to write to let you know I love it. It's funny though, I haven't been able to do any new music as I haven't heard anyone I liked since Geof and Maria broke up, just before Bonnie's birthday, back in 1974. :) LOL!
There are some other girls with guitars I like, but you're definately in my Pandora.com top 10 list.
NavThursday, February 28th 2008 8:21PM
Hi Catie! I was wondering if you could please, please do a show in Canada...maybe in Calgary, or even better Canmore or Banff! I hope you can do it! Thanx!
RachelWednesday, February 20th 2008 8:32AM
you HAVE to record Princess and the Mermaid. Its a favorite and I only heard it once!
Okay, Catie...I'm feeling left out on the CD advisement and thought I'd better jump in with SOMETHING! ;) I don't know what all the working titles of the new ones are, but I've got to put my vote in on "Lovely". I know you're planning to use it for your movie ;), but I think it's such a different Catie Curtis sound...would be fun to mix it in...and it's a sweet song. I see you've already got others I'd recommend making the cut...but what about "Happy"...or whatever you're calling that? Okay...that's it for now. Wish we could hear more on this side of the Rockies, but such as it is, eh? peace, H.
yesterday was the first day in the studio and we have already cut basic tracks for Happy and Lovely! so, your request is my command! c
Monday, February 18th 2008 2:57AM
Catie - We really enjoyed your performance at THE SHELDON in St Louis on Friday night (Feb 15). KISS THAT MATTERED was fantastic and we REALLY liked the song you played that referenced your father... Could you please post the name of the song or which of your albums it is on. Anyway, great job!
the song is Dad's Yard, from a CD called Truth From Lies. thanks for asking!
MargoSunday, February 17th 2008 6:42PM
Hi Catie, Thanks for another great show last night in Bloomington. I feel incredibly lucky that you were able to find someone to sing back-up on "It's the Way You Are" -- I've been requesting that one for awhile. ;) It was special for me to have the woman I always think about when I hear that song sitting next to me and holding my hand.
I hope you feel better as you head back into the studio. The new songs are great--we dug all of them. I'm hoping that "Princess and the Mermaid" and "Happy" find a place, as well.
My girlfriend and I were at your concert last night at the Sheldon in St. Louis. It meant a lot to see you last night, and I hope I get to see you again sometime. You're an amazing artist.
Emily ArnoldSaturday, February 16th 2008 2:09PM
Hey Catie! I just wanted to thank you for sharing your music with all of use this weekend and on Saturday. You have no idea how much it meant to have a little part of camp brought into my hometown. Thanks again :)
ps. give the girls a hug for me!
Heidi HeinleMonday, February 11th 2008 9:41AM
Hi Catie! I can't wait for your concert on 2/15! At Miniwanca this year it was SO special to hear you sing at the Ohle Center. Your music is incredibly thoughtful and energetic, I gave all my friends a copy of your "Long Night Moon" CD for Christmas. I hope you'll play "Passing Through" at the concert--it's one of my all-time favorite songs! Safe travels.
Hi Catie! My girlfriend and I can't wait to see you in Bloomington this weekend! The first live show of yours I attended was while I was a senior at IL Wesleyan. Now, I return with my girlfriend who is now a senior (yeah, she was a freshman when I was a senior) to share this with her and the many friends of hers we have sold on your music. Strange how you seem to keep providing the soundtrack to such great moments with friends. Thank you. Safe travels!
Friday, February 8th 2008 1:07PM
I just laughed out loud at the vision of the squirrel... Anyway, I haven't had a chance to see you perform since this past summer at song school and I won't get to see you again until March in Colorado. I'm not sure what other new songs you've introduced since that time but I figured I better cast my vote before the recording sessions:) My "must haves" are "Fools", "Sing" and the song that refers to a Joshua tree. I'm being a bit greedy I know but it doesn't hurt to ask... right?
So far, Fools, Sing and Joshua Tree are all making the cut! thanks, Catie
Friday, February 8th 2008 7:08AM
Hi I just want to tell you a story from France... I'm french, and, after a trip to the US a few years ago my father brought me one of your CD's, Truth from lies, which I loved (The wolf is such a touching song). I've tried a few years later to find a recent CD of yours, and found the one with a title on Roses i think (beautiful). And this year, I searched again for a new album... but I couldn't find anything in our major cd store, "FNAC" where I found the previous ones. I wondered why, and was really disappointed ! So for the first time in my life I bought something on Amazon... it arrived in my mailbox two long weeks later (! all the way from Oakland, USA !). I think Long night moon is your best album I've heard, it's really great music, whith dynamics, interesting lyrics, and I just love the guitar, I can't understand why it's so difficult to find this CD here ! I'm introducing your music to friends, hoping they will like it just as I do and maybe someday, I will be able to hear you here in Paris :) Until that, I wish you the best, and thanks for writing such beautiful songs Julia
julia, I hope I can return to paris-- I would LOVE to! thanks for your thoughtful note. best, catie
Your song Passing Through is quite profound for me as I begin a master's program in humane education. I find this song very inspiring, among others on the beautiful CD. The humane ed program brings together concerns for the sustainability, animal rights, human rights and consumerism in the spirit of teaching the incredible power of everyday choices. It's offered through an institute in Maine and Cambridge College in Boston. Thanks, Catie! P.S. I'm the guy who gave you the chocolate in Portland, OR, and asked you to sign Dreaming in Romance Languages :)
Looking forward to your appearance in Bloomington! You got a new fan in me when I saw you with Joni Laurence and Patty Larkin in Champaign a few years ago. Your energy was just superb! Can't wait to see you again! Safe travels!
And a ps to Cheryl and Norma - If you are coming this way and need a place to stay, I have an extra bedroom! Email me at onedot1@yahoo.com.
Skip Loebig (and Emma Doodle)Saturday, February 2nd 2008 4:31PM
Hey Catie! Emma and I loved the Concert in Wausau! Hopefully, you'll find your way to Decorah some day. I'll be happy to fly over and pick you up in Minneapolis. Hope Duluth and Minneapolis are enjoyable. Safe travels.
An incredible Venue...someone's home to introduce me to an awesome artist! I listened to the CD I purchased the whole way home, then had to hop on the internet and post this to say...Thanks from Wausau!!
Devon M. LyonThursday, January 31st 2008 6:00PM
Go Pats! Urgghhh. That's all I have to say about that.
Hey Catie! I just bought tickets for the Folk Festival in St. Louis. I've been waiting for another show since you played at the Leadership Conference. Have safe travels and see you in a few weeks!

I was in the 8th grade when I fell in love with your music. First love breakup, man you got me through it. I'm well out of school now and never kept up with you(even though I own probably every piece of music you have recorded.) I live in Asheville NC and I just found out that you were here a week ago. Now you have to get me through my second major heartbreak. Thank you for the purity in your music and for your influence in my life. I don't know you personally, but I have good decernment and I'm sure you are an amazing person and completely beautiful inside! Keep It Up Girl! Thanks again...

So enjoyed your b'ham al. show with kenny white. wonderful music and looking forward to you coming back this way soon.
Catie, You were wonderful last night at WorkPlay!!! What a treat - you were so cute, friendly and talkative and your voice is amazingly beautiful!!! Troubled Mind and Magnolia Street were my favorites. Looking so forward to the new album. Thanks for coming to Birimingham - I hope you will come again.
Thursday, January 17th 2008 10:33AM
Catie-What wonderful news to hear you are recording another CD soon. We can't wait to hear what you have been working on when we see you in Saratoga. Even with the Red Sox World Series win, again, is there any chance you might find a place on the new CD for "Home Team" this go around? It is such a gem. Abby & Danielle

Any update on the Wausau, Wi gig? I am hoping to bring a gaggle of friends along. I gave "tickets" as a birthday gift. To my way of thinking, what better way to be a friend than to take someone to a Catie Curtis concert!
We have made several road trips to see you in the last 7 years that my partner and I have been together and we are hoping to make a trip to see you next month at Bluemoon in Illinois. We have seen you perform at Asheville, Wisconsin and in Illinois and have loved every thing about the experience. We always love to hear stories about the girls. Look forward to see you. Take care and lots of love. Cheryl and Norma

Hey Catie, Thanks again for stopping by City Year Washington DC!!!!! It was great:)

Catie- Thanks so much for the show at the Barns. We are so lucky to get to see you with John Jennings... Not only is he great on guitar but you and he have such a good rapport on stage.
We really appreciate you mentioning Noi. She laid down an amazing challenge for us to live up to.
Catie - I got invited to your concert at Wolf Trap last night and, to be honest, had never heard of you before.... But WOW! You were super great! Your voice, your song writing talents and your ease of charm with the audience. Sign me up! (I've added a totally gratuitous plug for you on my myspace page...will find one of your songs to upload, too). Best, Paula
when wkze in sharon ct started playing cuts from crash course in roses it was like manna from the sky (ok...it struck a chord). this was my first chance to see a show, we trekked out from the hudson valley to the iron horse and not only was it a C-squared spectacular double bonus was chris trapper! who knew! and kevin barry made everything golden playing between the lines and off of them. and don't forget marty sextant's cameo (they play him a ton on the woodstock station but i never knew he looked like my other brother Darryl) thanks catie for magnolia st, & for giggin so close, and you must be crazy to go to duluth minnesota in the dead of winter!
LizSunday, January 6th 2008 10:20PM
Catie, As always, thank you for an amazing show at the Iron Horse tonight. I love all of the new songs! I hope you will include them on your new CD plus the Princess and the Mermaid! Your songs and stories brightened my day...I've been going through a rough time lately, but I left the Iron Horse with a lighter heart, hope, and a huge smile on my face...Your Joshua Tree and Happy songs had a lot to do with that. Thank you!
The number for tickets listed for the Jan 12th show in Charlottesville is WRONG on this site. The correct number for the Acoustic Muse is 434-409-3376.

I'm so happy to have found your songs/music. I discovered you through Pandora when I was sampling some contemporary folk songs. Will you ever be in northern Michigan, specifically Traverse City? We have a great coffee house in the nearby town of Lake Leelanau. See the link below.

Hi Catie,
Not sure if you ever had time to look up the Graston Technique with one of your practitioners. Myself, partner and best friend were at your show at Steel City Cafe this past late winter. Well, hope you found some relief with your minor ailment. Give me a shout if you ever wish to discuss further healing therapies. www.drjennhartmann.com. Best, Dr Jenn

Hi Catie,
We loved your performance at the Grange Hall Coffee House in Sandwich last Saturday!
Catie,
Thanks so much for a great evening at the Grange Hall.

Since we liked you so much, we bought three of your CD's and listened to you all the way home to south FL. Your music is so fresh and clean. Your voice is so smooth and clear. A refreshing blend. Great listening.

I have to second the sentiment of the previous individual's post. I know that you kind of spoiled us out here in Colorado in 2008-2009 but I'm getting a little nervous that I haven't seen any shows posted for 2010! Should I be planning a road trip soon or is there any hope that we'll see you out this way this year? Hope all is well!

Take good care of yourself in the coming months,
Catie

Couldn't wait to listen to it in the car on the ride home back to NJ. It was nice to hear some favs on it like Dads Yard and Saint Lucy along with your new stuff. Dads Yard puts a lump in my throat every time I hear it.
Loved that you had Soulfully in your playlist that night too...oldie but goodie. I brought some friends new to your music to the show and they loved you and your stories about your songs and family.
Thanks again! - Dorothy (NJ)

Hi Catie,
After having a rather brutal therapy session yesterday, I went to purchase a book recommended by my therapist.

Be well,

Enjoy Colorado while you are here and feel free to come back more often.

my wife and I saw you play in Maine 10 or so years ago and we bought Truth from Lies.

Abby

Nope the reason I cut half of that verse was because they only needed 2.25 minutes! They were actually so sweet and kind and I'm sure it would have been fine.

I went on youtube to try to find the teenager song you sang in order to entertain my husband (we 3 have three children who act like teenagers even though they are only 5, 9, & 11).

Catie,
Once again let me tell you that the 10/4 show at Old Town School of Folk Music was terrific.

Catie,
You might remember me - I performed during your musical break at CAV in Providence and booked you to perform at The Spoken Word poetry series years ago and we've had contact on and off since then. Thank you.

Thank you.

Hi Catie,
I've been listening to your new album non-stop for the past week and when I can't be near a CD player/Ipod, your songs are consistently "playing" in my head.

Hi Catie --
I've been meaning to somehow drop you a line for ages.
Thanks for your fantastic music and generous spirit.

i'm playing the guitar, too and most of your songs are easy to play AND beautiful to sing. perfect.

At the last show, you played a song with the lyric, "A circle of love is being drawn around you...so sing" or something like that...is that the same as the song "sing" on the new album? if not, do you recall which song I'm thinking of?
be well..

I guess I am asking after the fact... I hope I could use it for a video slideshow of his life. I would like to post it on the web, Maybe you would like to see it?

I am truly sorry if I offended you. Please come back and show my friend I am not the reason you haven't returned.

Do you have any plans, in light of the new CD, to tour the UK, perhaps next year? Also, is there any progress with "Tangled Stories"? If distribution is the problem perhaps Rob Millis' team could consider making it available via a pay download facility through a website? I'm sure there are thousands of fans who would like to see it!

I think the venue was called Keysters (schubas is in Chicago) I actually had fun that night at the show. I'll be back, I hope!

Hi Catie! I was wondering if you could please, please do a show in Canada...maybe in Calgary, or even better Canmore or Banff! I hope you can do it! Thanx!

Hi Catie,
Thanks for another great show last night in Bloomington.

Hey Catie! I just wanted to thank you for sharing your music with all of use this weekend and on Saturday. You have no idea how much it meant to have a little part of camp brought into my hometown. Thanks again :)

I'm being a bit greedy I know but it doesn't hurt to ask... right?
So far, Fools, Sing and Joshua Tree are all making the cut!
thanks,
Catie

Hi
I just want to tell you a story from France...
I'm introducing your music to friends, hoping they will like it just as I do and maybe someday, I will be able to hear you here in Paris :) Until that, I wish you the best, and thanks for writing such beautiful songs
Julia
julia,
I hope I can return to paris--
I would LOVE to!
thanks for your thoughtful note.
best,
catie

Peace to you and yours,
Jessica
