What You Can't Believe

I'm still learning about you
After everything that we've been through
Last night you said what I never knew and it took me by surprise
We were home sleeping
I woke up to the sound of you weeping
You said you were afraid there was no meaning to our lives

I can't believe what you can't believe
If everything is meaningless
What do you call all this
When the world is dark, I know it breaks your heart
But maybe some small thing you've done means the world to someone

You're still learning about me
And what it is to have a family
Maybe it's not what you thought it would be, well join the crowd
We run around in all directions
Catch the news it's so damn depressing
Then everything is thrown in to question under darkening clouds

And still I can't believe what you can't believe
Although there have been those times when faith is hard to find
When the world is dark, I know it breaks your heart
But maybe some small thing you've done means the world to someone

I know you want to change the world
Let's start small tonight, tending to your own light

And I can't believe what you can't believe
When everything you do means so much to me
When the world is dark look at these paper hearts
Colored in crayon, do you understand
To us the world is what you are
What you are, what you are

I'm still learning about you
