Shows in Northeast, Happy Video, and more warming trends

Sweet Life, my new CD released this fall, was just named one of the top TEN CDs of 2008 by WUMB radio! Thanks, WUMB! www.wumb.org. And my Happy video is up for voting at the LOGO channel website: Vote for Happy by Catie Curtis!. Check it out and vote if you get the chance!

After a fantastic trip to Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota, I am now back in New England to play coffeehouse shows in Framingham MA and Cumberland RI. Meg Hutchinson will join me in Framingham and Kevin Barry will accompany me at the Stone Soup Coffeehouse in RI. Next weekend I travel to Phoenixville PA for a show at the Steel City C-house. Don't be afraid of the cold! We will warm you!

Coming up in February, I'm recording a bluegrass-style CD at Compass Records in Nashville. I understand they have a heck of a banjo player lined up! And since the theme of my February is Nashville, I'm playing a festival in Belfast called the "Belfast Nashville Songwriter Festival," along with Nanci Griffith, Tift Merritt and many other fine writers. Following the festival I travel to England for one date only, in London, at the Borderline—it's been 6 years since I was there last, and I'm really looking forward to returning. I'll also be in Pennsylvania and NYC in February, so check gig listings if you live there! Colorado, Utah and Albuquerque also to come this spring.

The Inauguration: We arrived home last week from Washington DC, with suitcases to unpack and photos to upload. There were so many highlights, it's hard to know where to start. Walking among the crowds on Inaugural Day was like a zen parade. We were marching, but not protesting. We were just there to be present in a profound moment of change in this country. There was singing, chanting O-BAM-A, dancing, drumming, smiling and friendliness among stangers. Then the party at the HRC Equality Ball was completely over the top. After my own set, on which I was joined by the fabulous Ingrid Graudins, I got to sing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun with Cyndi Lauper, Rufus Wainwright and Thelma Houston. I've started a new album of Inaugural photos (click PHOTOS), and will continue to to add to it as I acquire more shots. Thanks to Ingrid Graudins for traveling from Chicago for the show, and to our hosts all along the way who helped make this possible (Jo, Matt, Sarah, Krista, Chryssa, Karen, and Brett).

See you out there!
