SWEET LIFE and shows in MAINE (Ogunquit and Brownfield)

Hello all,

Sorry, the last message didn't include tour dates.  This one does... sorry some of you got two emails.

Sweet Life, the new CD on Compass Records, will be out on 9/9/08! You can now hear tracks and pre-order at http://compassrecords.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=4607.

In the coming weeks, I'm playing in Maine (Brownfield and Ogunguit) and in Fall River MA, breaking out songs from the new CD as well as your requests for older tunes. The Sweet Life tour starts in September, including a show at Joe's Pub in NYC on the eve of the release. I'll also be in the Midwest, Nashville, and the West Coast in September and October.  And there is now, at last, a fan page on Facebook... Link here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Catie-Curtis/27201801262 to join my group!

In tandem with the release of Sweet Life, I'm launching an initiative called Aspire to Inspire, to give guitars to aspiring musicians who can't afford them. This initiative is something I've wanted to do for a long time, since I was given a guitar as a teenager. Our first giveaway is through the ASCAP Foundation and the Fresh Air Fund. We'll give 14 guitars away on 9/9 at a special reception in New York City. Please email stephanie@compassrecords.com if you'd like to attend.

From August 27-September 2, listen on your public radio station or itunes podcast for the Etown (http://www.etown.org) show I was on with the Barenaked Ladies, taped in front of a sold-out crowd at the Boulder Theater. Im sure a good percentage of the fun we had can be squeezed through the cyber universe, directly to your ears.

Finally, I would like to express my sadness at the passing of singer/songwriter Katie Reider. She touched so many of us with her gorgeous songs and voice. She died at age thirty, on July 14, leaving behind her partner and their two young children.. Go to http://www.500kin365.org to hear Katie's music and read about her life.

See you out there!
