June in the Dunes

I'm writing from a summer cottage called Dune View, on Lake Michigan=2E June starts off chilly here, wind blowing the dune grass flat against the sand=2E We closed up our house in Boston for a couple months to be beside this lake that acts so much like ocean=2E It's absolutely stunning=2E I keep wondering when the salty air will get here, and I admit to being confused by the presence of waves without the tide=2E



This weekend I'm flying back east for shows in Piermont NY (the Turning Point--almost sold out so call ahead for tickets!) and at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia=2E The talented Elana Arian opens these shows=2E And on July 1, I'm thrilled to be performing on the live tour of public radio show Mountain Stage, broadcast live from the Ann Arbor Summer Folk Festival (singer Ingrid Graudins joins me for this show)=2E Also in Michigan, check out the Concert of Colors on July 22, in Detroit=2E Then I'm off to the legendary Michigan Womyn's Music Festival and the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival=2E The fall schedule includes the Boston Folk Festival, a west coast tour, the Moab Folk Festival, Provincetown MA (women's week), and some northeast shows=2E
