This new string-band CD features a duet with Mary Gauthier on the title track "Hello Stranger," plus 5 other cover songs (by Cat Stevens, Richard Thompson, Nina Simone and others) and 5 of my older songs (including Dads Yard and Passing Through).  The band is Alison Brown, Stuart Duncan, George Marinelli, Todd Phillips, Darrell Scott and Kenny Malone.  Stellar playing by these legendary musicians infuses the entire CD with humor and intensity as they play off each other in loose, improvised arrangements.  Cover art is by best-selling humorist Suzy Becker. Direct Current Review

This weekend, Im thrilled to be appearing with Melissa Ferrick at the Lowell (Massachusetts) Summer Music Series on Saturday night.  My band will include Lindsay Mac, Elana Arian and Jimmy Ryan.  Melissa and I are plotting to perform at least a couple songs together.  Then on Sunday, Elana and I head down to the gigantic multistage event, Musikfest, in Bethlehem PA.  Dont miss this festival if you live anywhere nearby (or road trip, anyone?)  The following weekend I return to New England for shows in Lebanon and Londonderry NH as well as Brownfield, ME (with Ellis Paul at Stone Mountain Arts.)  See my listing of GIGS for details on upcoming shows.
