EAST COAST SHOWS (Or, how to turn the heat up in the house...)

I'm hitting the road next week to warm up the chilly Southeast US with special guest, singer/songwriter/cellist  Lindsay Mac. On Wednesday the 13th, we'll rock Eddie's Attic in Decatur GA (where the Indigo Girls got their start), and on Thursday, the Grey Eagle in the groovy mountain town of Asheville NC.  On Saturday night we'll perform in the Raleigh-Durham area at the Carrboro Arts Center -- one of my favorite venues.  We close out the weekend tour at the Evening Muse, an intimate coffeehouse in Charlotte, NC.  I will be playing the snare drum and singing on Lindsay's set, and she will accompany me on cello/vox.  This is a collaboration you don't want to miss.  Check out Lindsay Mac, she's unique and amazing.   The next weekend I play the Baltimore area:  Baldwin's Station in Sykesville MD, followed by a multi-artist benefit concert for Women of Folk Music at the Birchmere on Friday.

In early February I return to New England for another multi-artist benefit concert, this one at the New Arts Center in Newton, MA, for my daughters' elementary school.  Later in February I hit two of my favorite towns:  Marblehead MA (the Me and Thee Coffeehouse on 2.19) and Burlington, VT, at Higher Ground (2.20).  The Higher Ground show will benefit the Peace and Justice Center, in memory of beloved local activist Guen Gifford, who died recently.

My latest release, the string band CD "Hello Stranger" was selected as one of the Top Ten Folk Albums of 2009, by the Boston Globe!  And here's a link to a recent TV appearance WUSA9/CBS in D.C.

Hope to see you on the road.  You can reserve your tix online through the links, above.
Or check out one of the last two releases:  Sweet Life and Hello Stranger by listening at MYSPACE.

Cheers,
Catie

P.S. Today's Boston snow reminds me of one of my favorite Ferron songs, "Snowing in Brooklyn"

It's old human nature,
It's cold or it's hot
But if it's snowin' in Brooklyn
You say it's snowin' in Brooklyn
Well if it's snowin' in Brooklyn
I'd say snow's what we've got
