Passing Through

I travel to Virginia this weekend to play in Ashland and Vienna (the Barns gig is sold out) with the legendary John Jennings (Mary Chapin Carpenter's collaborator and also the producer of my Acoustic Valentine CD) backing me up on guitar.  Yay.  Then I'll be in Florida in a couple weeks.  This is the time to buy your plane tickets, fellow cold-country dwellers!  See you down there!

The new album's coming along great...  more news and photos on that topic will be up soon.

Today, I got an email from my pal Ingrid Graudins, who I met when she was singing with Jonatha Brooke.  She sent this, an Aboriginal quote from Australia: "We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home."  She was wondering if it was the inspiration for the song Mark Erelli and I wrote, called "Passing Through."  It's not, but wouldn't that be cool if it was... I thought I'd send  it along this morning.  A little breakfast for thought.  Thanks, Ingrid!  link
